Casa María hosts Labor Day barbecue with new charcoal grill
The brothers of Casa María celebrated the Labor Day holiday by hosting a barbecue for nearly 60 Marianists, family and friends of the community on Monday, Sept. 1, 2014.
Using a newly purchased charcoal grill outdoors in 100+ degree heat, the brothers barbecued 15 pounds of chicken and 64 hot dogs. “Not a single piece of meat was left over,” Bill Behringer, community director, said.
Following a holiday schedule, the brothers celebrated community Mass at 9 a.m. and the festivities began at 5 p.m. when guests arrived promptly.
