Casa Maria Marianists

Rev. André Fétis (Côte d’Ivoire), was elected as the XV Superior General of the Society of Mary at the XXXV General Chapter in Rome, Italy, Friday, July 20. He succeeds Rev. Manuel Cortés (Spain), who completed his second term as the XIV Superior General.

The XXXV General Chapter runs from July 8-29, 2018 and includes 33 delegates representing 18 units of the Society of Mary. Six capitulants from the Marianist Province of the United States are representing the province—the largest delegation in the General Chapter.

Fétis previously visited the Casa María Community in February 2009, attended a community Mass and played an ‘ukulele and ipu heke (Hawaiian gourd drum).
