Over 50 students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends celebrated the first Casa Tuesday of the new year with the Marianists of Casa María on Tuesday, January 11.
Over 84 homemade tacos served, three dozen personalized cookies baked, spontaneous hula dances, one baby’s diaper changed and the return of Brother Mike highlighted the evening of a unique date of the calendar: 1-11-11.
Salisbury steak, chocolate cake with ice cream and a community stroll through the River Walk to see the Christmas lights were the festivities that celebrated the birthday of our brother, Bill.

The last Casa Tuesday of the fall 2010 semester included Hawaiian prayers, spontaneous Christmas caroling and a surprise visit from Santa Claus.
StMU students took a break during “study week” to observe the vigil of the Immaculate Conception, to pray for wisdom on their final exams next week and to celebrate the spirit of Advent at Casa Maria, which was recently decorated for the Christmas season. Following a spaghetti dinner, snow-white Mexican wedding cookies were served to commemorate two of St. Mary’s upcoming feast days (Immaculate Conception on Dec. 8 and Our Lady of Guadalupe, the patroness of the Americas, on Dec. 12).
