Students, faculty and staff joined the Casa Maria Community for prayer, socializing, dinner and dessert on Tuesday November 16th. Our prayer was in memory of the six Jesuits and two women that were martyred in El Salvador. Chicken Noodle Soup and Grilled Ham and Cheese Sandwiches set the stage for delicious and elaborate Turkey dessert.

¡Felicidades a Jeffrey y Crystal!
November 13, 2010The Marianists of Casa María celebrated the wedding of Jeffrey and Crystal Pardo by serving as music ministers during the Mass and attending the reception dinner on Saturday, November 13.
As wedding sponsors, the brothers of Casa María led the music while fellow Marianist Cris Janson presided at the Saturday afternoon Mass in Holy Rosary Parish.
Casa Tuesday celebrates two birthdays
November 9, 2010Two birthdays deserve two desserts. Casa Tuesday celebrated the birthdays of Brian and Nicholas with colorful confetti desserts on Tuesday, November 9. The cross cake was strawberries and cream flavor and the cupcakes were Tahitian vanilla.

November 5, 2010Casa Tuesday celebrates All Souls Day
November 2, 2010Students, staff and Marianists at St. Mary’s University prayed for the souls of their dearly departed at Casa Tuesday’s celebration of All Souls Day on Nov. 2.
Following Mexican tradition, a special altar was set up in the chapel with photos of loved ones who have died, candles, Mary’s flower (marigolds) and pan de muerto (bread of the dead). Dinner consisted of tacos, Mexican rice and colorful cookies, including a special skull-shaped cookie for El Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead).
Second annual Casa María Uno Cup
November 1, 2010Casa María held its second annual Uno Cup game night during the community’s fun night. The game was coordinated by the Office of Temporalities, which included pumpkin pies made by Brother Brian Halderman, S.M. Taking first place was Aspirant Mark Motz, coming in second was Brother Mike Sullivan, S.M. and third was Father Bill Behringer, S.M.
What we’ve learned about the Marianists
November 1, 2010First-year St. Mary’s University students enjoyed breakfast taco’s and pan de muerto (bread of the dead) for breakfast. The students were part of Mr. Wayne Romo’s, director of University Ministry, ND101 class. Following the breakfast a group of students shared with they’ve learned about the Marianists and St. Mary’s University.
