Brother Stephen Glodek, S.M., Provincial of the Marianist Province of the U.S., made a brief visit to the Casa María community during Labor Day evening, Sun., Sept. 7. During the visit, Brothers Tim Pieprzyca and Mike Sullivan explained the new trash can that the community had acquired last month.

Members of the Casa María community spent an afternoon at the TECABOCA (Texas Catholic Boys Camp) retreat center in Mountain Home, Texas, on Saturday, September 5. The retreat center hosted a “Friends of TECABOCA” weekend which included the board meeting. The video chronicles a brief tour for the brothers given by Executive Director Kay Tally-Foos.
Aspirants Norman and Andrew officially were received into the Casa María Marianist community during the Rite of Acceptance as part of the celebration of Mary, Queen of Apostles, on Saturday, September 5. See more photos on our Flickr site.

Praying together as a community is central to our lives as Marianist religious. Quotes from our Rule of Life illustrate its importance: “…In our prayer life, we give special importance to the liturgy” (Article 48) and “The life and mission of our community find their source and summit in the liturgy” (Article 49).
As a first step in the formation process of becoming a Marianist brother, the Aspirancy program offers full participation in community life. One aspect of community life includes planning daily liturgies, which is shared among all brothers in community.
