Casa María held its second annual Uno Cup game night during the community’s fun night. The game was coordinated by the Office of Temporalities, which included pumpkin pies made by Brother Brian Halderman, S.M. Taking first place was Aspirant Mark Motz, coming in second was Brother Mike Sullivan, S.M. and third was Father Bill Behringer, S.M.

First-year St. Mary’s University students enjoyed breakfast taco’s and pan de muerto (bread of the dead) for breakfast. The students were part of Mr. Wayne Romo’s, director of University Ministry, ND101 class. Following the breakfast a group of students shared with they’ve learned about the Marianists and St. Mary’s University.

Casa María participates in what has become a local Mexican-American custom known as Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). A little altar honoring the departed loved ones of the Brothers in the community has been arranged as we prepare to observe the feast of All Souls on November 2.

Celebrating Boo Bash and an early Halloween, Casa Tuesday served up special desserts and hosted a unique collection of visitors on October 26.
